Good design,works perfect
As an individual who wants to be aware of every situation in my home, I wanted all fire and carbon monoxide alarms to communicate with my mobile phone.Since I often go abroad, my mind was staying at home.Since I use the Ring products with trust, I chose the product from the same brand. The box, product design is very successful as always. It is easy to install and I have not seen a error in its operation so far.I dont know about battery life yet.Connectivity is good too.

Good for Whole House Smoke/CO Systems
With Ring, you have two choices when it comes to alerting you and others that smoke or CO is in the house: a First Alert smoke/CO detector with Z-wave technology or this listener. The first actually detects a problem, and this listener waits for other detectors to go off before reporting the problem. Because I have a hard-wired system where every alarm goes off when one does, the listener was the most cost-effective. I need only one listener instead of several detectors placed throughout the house. If we didn’t have a whole-house system, then I would have gotten one listener for each floor since it still would have been fewer devices than if I placed new detectors in every bedroom and hallway. As with all Ring security devices, this listener was a breeze to install and activate. Just follow the instructions on the app, and it’s added to your list within minutes. The most time consuming part is installing it 6″ or less from an existing detector. That is as difficult as drilling holes and screwing the base in. If you have a hard-wired, whole-house system, you can select any alarm to place it next to, even in an out-of-the-way location. Note: If you are connected to Ring’s service, make sure you follow the instructions to put it in test mode so that it doesn’t trigger a response.I love my Ring security system, and this listener add functionality that I didn’t expect when I first bought into the system.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Works well
This works so well it can hear the fire alarm go off from cooking in the other room (I have tried to shut the door to avoid the one next to it going off) and calls emergency services. Just make sure to keep your phone nearby to tell them youâre safe, or it will dispatch the fire department.

Support was good (Was: Whoever did the setup instructions messed up)
EDIT: I finally had a call with the person from Ring support. She was very knowledgeable, and she totally understood my feedback about how the instructions and the feedback given by the app and the device were misleading. Original review below:I tried to give this feedback on the Ring site, but that thing seems almost designed to frustrate that sort of thing, so here goes here. The instructions for doing the “learning mode” seem clear, if as the writer, you’re a bit of a slacker, but a key part of it isn’t thought through. Judging by some of the negative reviews, many others are having problems because of this. The key part is this: It’s not clear when the device is and isn’t in “test/learning” mode! Since the setup screens have this one picture with a big black arrow pointing at a button, they will press it. This puts the device into “test/learn” mode. THEN, when they are subsequently prompted to press the button, they are taking the device out of “test/learn” mode! Such users will then dutifully go through the test, and see the red light reacting to the sounds, but the test will never successfully complete.I finally figured this out. This tells me that the setup instructions for this product were not thoroughly tested by genuine users unfamiliar with the device. On the surface, it looks like ok instructions. However, there needs to be more and earlier explanation, combined with better feedback from the device and app when things aren’t going the correct way. The app should be getting a signal about the sound detection without the alarm detection, so it can warn the user the device is in the wrong state. Instead, the reacting lights fool the user into think the device is in the test/learn state.I hope someone at Ring gets this feedback, looks at some of the negative reviews, and thinks a little more deeply about this.
