   Works well with a connection caveat
   I just installed 12 units in my house. As a background, I had a different brand installed in my house and second home. All worked well. After a year or so, my wifi was upgraded at my house. Now I coukd not reconnect the units to the wifi in my house. But the units continued to work at my second home. So, after not having leak detectors for some time, the hose on our dishwasher broke and was flooding our kitchen. Luckily I was right there when it happened and shut the water down, which brings me back to how important leak detectors are. So after searching, I decided on the Moen. I easily installed all 12 Moen units. One did come with a dead battery. The issue I see that many have is that these units have to connect up to Wifi 2.4 and not your general 5.0 wifi. And some wifi appliancees out there are pretty ‘picky’ on which 2.4 works. That’s my experience. These Moen installed easily, as my 2.4 wifi worked well with them. My experience has been some brands will work with my wifi and others won’t. I’m lucky with the Moen.I also tested one by purposely putting a very slight film of water around a detector. And it worked flawlessly by sending an alert. I also liked the app very much. Gives you the temp and humidity. And you can set the type notifications and what info.So far I’m very pleased. Just be aware of those who had trouble connecting or staying connected. Comes down to the quality of their Wi-Fi. Like I said, some brands will work for you, and others won’t. I’m happy.

   good leak detector
   these work well, interface with the app. overall, no complaints at all. one thing to note, is if you are using the extension cord, when you plug it in, make sure to push it firmly in. otherwise, you will get false alarms if you only partially plug it. but, that was user error on my part, so no complaints at all with the water alarms!

   Beware of Amazon “Used – Like New” for this item
   I’ve had a Moen Flo smart shutoff valve for about 4 years and overall pleased. We had to replace the internal impeller recently due to corrosion of the sensors (known issue – Moen is aware). During the repair of the impeller we decided to order the 3-pack Moen Leak Detectors from Amazon and found a Used-Like New deal that seemed reasonable. I let the box sit for a few weeks before opening and installing – big mistake! Read the many reviews about damaged boxes, dead batteries, loose or broken battery connection tabs, units disconnecting, etc…. I’ve had all of these problems. The product box was very banged up, the plastic battery tabs were removed on all 3 units and one of the batteries was completely DOA, all 3 units had damage to the metal tabs that make contact with the battery and hold it in place. Since it’s beyond the return window, I was able to bend the battery tabs back into place on 2 of the units and get them to work, but the 3rd unit is completely useless. The pairing process is not difficult if you remember to use a dedicated 2.4G wifi SSID, and the Flo app is not terrible, but not great either. I’ve had both functioning units randomly disconnect from the network and I’m still troubleshooting. I’ve not tested them with a simulated leak event yet as I’m deciding whether the keep the 2 of 3 that are sort of working, or give up and kick myself for not opening the box before the return window closed.

   Killed my home network! Be careful. (But ISP ultimately owned up and so far so good)
   I bought these to replace a set of Roost detectors with which I had no issues for a number of years, but retired when it was clear they were no longer part of Roost’s primary business model. After installing the Flo detectors my network (Orbi, with which I had never had any issues) started to drop connections, show incredible amounts of packet loss, etc. I spent months troubleshooting with my ISP, replaced my Orbi system with a eero system and fully disconnected and reinstalled my Sonos system. ISP was sure it was not their issue because on reboot signal and speed were great [ISP finally admitted I had leakage in my line from the street and was surprised my service tested as well as it did] I finally gave up and pulled the batteries from all of my Flo devices. Network has been fine since then. That suggests that these detectors were a waste of money and the cause of a giant headache. On the plus side: I like the Flo app; we have friends who swear by the water shutoff option; the detectors themselves are easy to set up. [Have reinstalled 2 detectors – so far, without issue]

   Awesome product, but pairing instructions could be better
   These leak detectors are awesome! Our plumber highly recommended this system. But we did encounter frustration pairing the system to our network so that we could receive cell phone alerts when a problem was encountered. As a former head of quality I would fail the video provided by Moen. It is confusing and doesn’t show all steps. Fortunately the Moen Flo technician we reached on the phone was awesome and got us on track.We have Android phones. The video instructions tell you to skip the pairing steps. We found out we had to go through them. You must use your wireless to link to the leak detection device (use the address provided): it will indicate that there is no Internet signal. Then click on “Retry” and your device will show that the firmware is being updated. Then you will be asked to link to your home wireless router and for a password. That should do it.Again, besides the frustration of pairing these are excellent devices that track leaks, temperature, humidity, and battery status. We are about to have installed a Flo device that can automatically shut off water to the house if a leak is detected from our installed devices or if it senses an anomaly. Having lived through issues with leaks, we are excited to have this system.

   As an add on to the Flo sensor it works great going around the hole for our sump pump. Very sensitive so when testing just make a spot damp. It will keep going off until dry lol

   Took me only a few minutes to get everything setup and working. I’m monitoring for water leak and temperature in the garage during winter in case of freezing. I’m also monitoring temperature/humidity and water leak in the basement near the water heather and the main entrance. I spilled water in the garage near the sensor the other day and I immediately received the SMS alert and app notification of a water leak. Great stuff, I highly recommend it, I’m less stressed about water leak and winter freezing the pipes because of a heating system failure now that I have this that can monitor both and alert me through multiple means (sms, email, phone call, app notification). Their system can also alert you if the devices did not report to their system recently so you know something failed or is not working or you have a power loss, good job Moen !

   After reading good reviews of this product ordered a box of three. The instructions, received upon arrival said “download associated app before unpacking” .Went to Google playstore. App “not available in your region”. Huh? Tried using another device. Same. Went to company website. Very unhelpful, and trying to find email contact almost impossible. After 30 mins tracked one down. Fired off email. 24 hours later no reply. Resorted to social media. At last a response: “Android App only available in US and Canada”. Well what a waste of time that was. Product therefore almost useless and returned. Luckily the seller was superb and understanding and refund easily obtained.So don’t buy if you want the product to work with the android app!!

    Set up was easy. After setup I removed the battery from one, the APP did not know which sensor was offline, they all reported online and good condition. I reinstalled the battery, then dropped the sensor in a sink full of water and no alarm was triggered. There’s no way in refreshing the app manually either.This product is hot garbage. I expect better from Moen.
