   I have installed the Flume water meter in my home, and I am thrilled with its performance.    Useful for lowering Water Bills and finding leaks!
   A great idea. Easy. No plumbing required.I am a bit slow in figuring out some Wi-Fi issues, but this seller contacted me immediately and had my unit up and running in no time.I am doing laundry all day so it will take me a few days or maybe a week to determine if we have a water leak as our neighbor did discover and had his entire backyard supply line replumbed. While that was likely very expensive, it would have been much less than the eventual water bills that continue to accumulate. A great idea and a great system that looks like it will be a substantial help to our water budget. Two days and yes, we had a substantial water leak and within four days the leaks have been repaired, and this Flume unit will have paid for itself in less than a week by money saved on water bills.

   Updated: lower stars due to greedy battery redesign
   Update 6/19/23: I have had my flume 2 for two years now. Works great- but lowering stars due to flume’s changing the replacement battery to “proprietary”. My original pack that came with the unit lasted two years. The original pack is simply a holder for 4 AA lithium cells you can get anywhere. But Flume now wants you to buy a replacement pack for $14. It uses four AA cheap no-name Chinese cells spot welded in a plastic housing. Field reports indicate these cells last far less than the factory Everready cells that came in my original Flume2. So they sell you cheap, no name cells that last far less. Very disappointed Flume tried to change the battery type to proprietary, when we all know it is 4 AA lithium in the package. The approach is greedy and NOT environmentally friendly. The four “blue” spot welded AA are cheap, and don’t last as long. So, Flume added cost and materials (spot welding, molded case), all adds energy, not readily recyclable, and takes far more energy to manufacture and ship than the user replaceable original. Fortunately, I have the original reusable cage and will forevermore replace my own. Shame, Flume. Shame.Pros: Easy install, very good and responsive customer support.Cons: battery- see above. Missing a signal strength indicator on the app; I had a unit that could not connect reliably at 60 feet line of site- Customer support can see the signal strength, I could not- so no ability to self-diagnose.First, I LOVE the FLUME 2, when it worked. The first unit I received worked for 12 hrs- I enjoyed seeing the water usage patterns- but then it just stopped working- it lost connection between the Bridge and the sensor at my meter. The only way to regain connection was to remove the sensor from my meter and bring it close to the bridge. I spent days on the app chatting with Customer support, trying different things. In the end, they said: Just return it, it won’t work in your application. I said “but wait, surely it should have more than 60 feet range?, maybe mine is defective”. Eventually I had to “escalate” (to a manager), who authorized a no question asked shipment of a new unit. I installed it, verified it worked great- my meter is in a “vault” with a cement cover. I ended up being able to put the bridge about 100ft away, near a window but not facing the window. So the first unit WAS defective (low range). With the 2nd unit, I have now had great water monitoring experience. And, the customer support (via app chat) WAS very responsive.I dock one star for: a) no signal strength meter on the app? That was the problem- a simple set of bars would tell you if your bridge and sensor have enough strength. b) I had to convince them something must be wrong with the first unit, and ask for a supervisor/manager to intercede. c) there should be more troubleshooting/diagnostic tests and tools for self-diagnosis, without having long chat sessions with Support.FLUME customer support did the right thing, we figured out together that Flume 2 could work in my setup. High marks for the overall experience- they brought a 1 star (when they said “just send it back”) to 4 star because of Customer support- they were always patient and polite…

   It Works Even Better Than Expected
   The Flume System was recommended by an engineer friend of mine. So I expected it to work. But, this system installed incredibly easy, started monitoring and reporting our home’s water flow to the nth degree, and after about a week did a pretty good job in determining how our water was being used (toilet, clothes washer, water softner, showers, etc). The water main is about 100 feet from the house, and the monitor records flawlessly. I am very pleased.

   great unit, a bit of time to install
   The actual install takes only a minute but getting thru all the downloading apps and navigating thru all the network settings, passwords, etc., etc., etc., etc. takes some time. Make sure you have all your network settings and date on hand, it can get a bit frustrating for and old geek like me. Lots and lots of useful info when you do get it up and running. My neighbor tried to use one but his meter is too far.

   Amazing Product
   Water bill was 3 times what it should be. Found a leak, or thought I did, and had it fixed. Next bill was still 3 times what it should be again. Found another leak and got that fixed. Connected flume and now can constantly see if anything is leaking. Easy to install, easy to read. Notifies me when water is running constantly. An amazing product.

   It is awesome!
   I have had the Flume leak detector for ~2 years now and it is awesome. You should NEVER underestimate how much a toilet with a broker flapper (which degrade waaayyy to quickly) or an improperly installed irrigation line will increase your water bill so best to identify those issues as soon as possible. Also, being able to better understand how much water you use outside your house will be shocking and this app really helps with that. One of my best smart home purchases. Definitely recommend.

   Dont buy this. It doesnt work and if you want to contact someone, they dont have a phone number. Worst customer service.. Actually no customer service .. Just pay your money and good luck . They are too greedy to have someone pick up the phone and help. A $600 mistake .. ..
