Two of my friends recently had water damage in basement for separate reasons. Hence, did some research & ordered 6 Govee smart water sensors with base unit. Bought this Owfeel unit to close the valve remotely if there is any email alert from sensors. Mounting correctly is tricky as device arm positioning wrt water lever may not align easily. SmartLife App does offer an option to select RESTART STATUS which can be set as OPEN, CLOSE or KEEP AS LAST. I have set it up as KEEP AS LAST. See screenshots. Will update info after Alexa integration.UPDATE 22SEP2021: Alexa integration between Govee Sensor/detectors & Owfeel Smart Valve completed. See attached screenshot for programming Alexa Routine to auto shut off Valve when water is detected on the leak sensors. Need to program each detector as a separate routine as Alexa does not allow a Group of Detectors to be programmed once for Valve auto-shut off.UPDATE 14NOV2021: Water supply stopped at night while I was brushing my teeth. Checked with Neighbours & then went to basement to check the valve. There was smell of burned motor & valve was making whirring sound. For now, I have shut it off & manually opened the valve. I fail to understand what is checked by Owfeel Engr when the faulty Valve is still in my basement. CONCLUSION – OWFEEL HAS VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, WITH NO INTENTION TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION . It works. Fine. Getting there took longer than it should have. Instructions donât flow from one tiny page to the next. Grainy pictures too small to show the nuances. Clamp isnât good.If this attached like my Dome ( two clamps – one either side of valve ) it would have been fine.My use is to shut off irrigation remotely – excess use or if its a rainy week and no need to water the plants or if I get a wet floor alarm.The things that arenât called out that would have been nice to know before getting into a too-tight closet:Installed a new Propress 1/2â valve. Maybe the little bump on it ( vs sweat ) is a problem. First tried the sturdy clamp. Just a tad to big and couldnât get it to sit tight. Tried the automotive clamp, same thing. Cycled a few times and then the torque is enough to allow valve too much play ( water mostly-not fully âonâ or âoff ).Somewhere in the process I noticed that the adjustable rollers for the handle have a #1 Phillips head that wasnât visible once in place. The adjustments are critical to get Full On/OFF.Also note both clamps have a âTâ on one end that needs to be the end bolted to the unit.After trying positions before and after the valve, switching handle ( over and to other side ) still couldnât get it to stay tight. On a whim I swapped out the automotive clamp ( just ordered a dozen ) and that one pulled it in tight with the V clamp. So far so good

So the reason I bought this …. My Non Verbal Autistic 5 year old is completely hypnotized by running water. I’m sure most of you can’t grasp the nightmares this creates. We’ve tried everything and then I thought of this. It stopped everything instantly with him having the constant draw to every water source. So all in it’s a great smart valve but for my purpose it lifted a dark dark cloud that my family has been battling. It exceeded what I thought it would be by a lot. This is one of those products, the successful application of which will depend in large degree on the mechanical aptitude of the installer. Note that there is an earlier version, with metal pipe clamp that attaches with bolts, and a later improved version that attaches with 2 SS hose clamps, this review is on the 2nd version shown in my pic.First the cons: The bracket that mounts to the pipe with SS hose clamps, was slightly bent in shipment I guess. The part of the bracket that mounts to the actuator, is secured with two 5mm hex drive 6mm screws. One side of the bracket has two 6mm rivet nuts and the holes on the other side did not align (the holes are fairly tight tolerance so wiggling wouldn’t work. I had to clamp one side of the bracket in a vice and use an adjustable wrench to slightly torque the bracket to bring the holes into alignment. Not a big deal if you have the tools handy, but maybe a good idea to package better (the box was not damaged).I intended to measure the force needed to operate the valve as well as the force the actuator put out (using a digital weigh scale at right angles) – but in the end I just slapped it together to see if I’d get smoke of action . . . action it is! In the picture, the actuator is shown parallel to the wall, I had to cut a hole in the wall for clearance, figuring this would be easier than unsweating the valve in a maze of plumbing between well tank and radon remediation system.The actuator is rigid and does not appear to bend or flex as it moves the valve. On opening, actuator stops about 1/4″ (measured at end of handle) before full travel of handle. The valve appears to be fully open in terms of flow volume, and pushing against handle moves it the last little bit. In the more important closing direction, it takes the handle fully to the stop, so that’s good. Altogether a good value I think.

These work great and integrate easily with Tuya and home assistant. Make sure you take the time to tighten down the clamp, apply some rubber around the pipe before clamping for a more secure fit.
